Below are some authentic Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) which refer to sickness, disease and Hijama Wet Cupping Therapy. The divine nature and high status given to Hijama is reflected in the fact that Muhammad ﷺ said that the Angels told him and his Ummah (Nation) to practice Cupping
I did not pass by an angel from the angels on the night journey except that they all said to me ‘upon you is Hijama cupping, O Muhammad ﷺ (Reference: Sunan ibn Maajah, 3477)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explained that Hijama is one of the best medicine “The best medicine with which you treat yourselves is Hijama….” (Reference: Al Bukhari, 5371)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said: “If there is anything good in the medicines with which you treat yourselves, it is in the incision of the Hijama therapist…” (Reference: Muslim, 2205)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The best treatment is Hijama Cupping; it removes blood, lightens the back and sharpens the eyesight.” (Reference: At Tirmidhi, 3053)
Anas narrated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to have Hijama Cupping done on the veins on the side of the neck and the upper back. (Reference: At Tirmidhi)
Ibn Umar reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Hijama Cupping on an empty stomach is best. It increases the intellect and improves the memory. It improves the memory of the one memorizing….” (Reference: Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah, 3488)
Ibn al-Qaiyum (RA) mentions that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was cupped on his head when he was afflicted with sihr (Magic) and that it is from the best of cures for this if performed correctly. [ Reference: Zaad al Ma’aad (4/125-126)].
Narrated By Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: The best medical treatment you apply is Hijamah.

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Whoever has hijama done on the 17th, 19th or 21st of the month, it will be for him a cure from every illness” ( Reference: Sahih Al-Jaami’ 5968)
Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “Jibra’eel conveyed to me that the best amongst the things that mankind uses for treatment is hijamah” ( Reference: Sahih Al-Jaami 213)
In the narration reported by Abdullaah ibnMas’ud (RA) the angels said, “O Muhammad ﷺ ,Order your Ummah(nation) with Hijama,

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, ‘Jibraaeel (Álayhis salaam) repeatedly emphasized upon me to resort to Hijamah to the extent that I Feared that Hijama will be made Obligatory.’ ( Reference: Jamúl Wasaail p.179)
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ praised a person who performs Hijamah, saying it removes bad blood, lightens the back and sharpens the eyesight ( Reference: Jamúl Wasaail p. 179)
Hadhrat Abu Kabsha (Radhiallaahu Ánhu) narrates that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to undergo cupping on the head and between his shoulders and he used to say‘Whosoever removes this blood; it will not harm him that he does not take any other medical treatment.’

Jaabir ibn Abdullaah (RA) reported that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ fell from his horse onto the trunk of a palm tree and dislocated his foot. Waki ‘ (RA) said, “Meaning the Muhammad ﷺ was cupped on (his foot) for bruising.”

Salma (RA), the servant of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Whenever someone would complain of a headache to
the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he ﷺ would advise them to perform Hijama.” [ Reference: Saheeh Sunan abi Dawud (3858)]
